OFFICIALS RETIRING

Swimming selectors Two members of the Canterbury Swimming Centre’s three-man selection panel, Messrs J. H. Johnson and C. A. Harrow, will not be available for the position next season.

Both will be involved in the organisation of the 1974 Commonwealth Games, and Mr Harrow also feels it is time he made way for a younger person. Mr Johnson is convenor of the panel, of which he has been a member since 1966. During this period he has seen Canterbury swimming advance to the top position in the country. Mr Harrow has also been on the panel since 1966. The third selector, Dr A. D. L. Hunter, will again be available. Mr Johnson is chairman and Mr Harrow a member of the Games sports technical committee. However, they will not cut their links from swimming. Both men will continue as members of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association’s council.
