IN RETIRED AREA—When this photograph was taken as members of the North Canterbury Catchment Board were visiting Lake Coleridge station last week they were on country that has been fenced off and taken out of grazing The retirement fence is in the foreground and the feature that dominates the photograph is the Knuckles of 4449ft. Altogether 18,000 acres have been taken out of grazing. The party had travelled in on the Wind whistle Winter Sports Club road and the memorial to the late Mr H. Richards is in the foreground.
