TUG READY TO LAUNCH

The Lyttelton Harbour Board’s new tug, the Canterbury, will be launched at Whangarei on Monday. Mrs Sutton, wife of.the board’s chairman (Mr F. I. Sutton) will christen the vessel, which will cost more than $650,000. The general manager of the board (Mr A J. Sowden), the chief engineer (Mr J. B. Bushell), and the harbourmaster (Captain D. Holden) will also be present at the launching. The tug will be fitted out and undergo sea trials before sailing for Lyttelton. The Canterbury is expected to arrive at Lyttelton about the end of May. The board will arrange another ceremony to mark the arrival of the tug at her home port.
