Mobile start in 1972 series
(N.Z Press Association) BRISBANE. The first mobile start at an Inter-Dominion Pacing Championship series will be included In the programme for the 1972 series at the Albion Park Raceway, Brisbane. The secretary of the Albion Park Trotting Club (Mr A. Frost) said yesterday the club had decided on a mobile barrier start for the second qualifying division. The divisions will be run over about 121 furlongs, under free-for-all conditions. The championships will cover four nights, with heats on May 20, 24 and 27, and the final on June 3. Four qualifying divisions
will be ran on each of the first three nights, with a stake of $2500 each. The final, worth $30,000 with ’ a gold cup valued at $lOOO, will be run over 12 furlongs and 132 yards. The programme will be submitted to the InterDominion Trotting Conference in Melbourne by April 1. It will be approved at the annual meeting of the conference in June.
