Fleece sale steady

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, March 24. The market for fleece and skirtings opened slightly dearer but eased to be on a par with the first day, said the official report of the second day of the Invercargill wool sale today. The market for secondshear was slightly easier, with the exception of betterstyle wools which were unchanged. Lambs’ wool again eased to be as much as 2| per cent cheaper, the drop being more marked in the better styles. Clothing oddments ’ sold slightly above Monday’s prices. The offering of 23,060 bales comprised 50 per cent ewe and shorn hogget, 30 per cent lamb, and the balance oddments. Competition was generally keen, Eastern Europe dominating, with some support from the Continent and the United States. The Wool Commission supported a proportion of lambs’ wool RANGE OF PRICES
