Censorship link urged

(N.Z. Frets Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 24. There should be some liaison between the censors of film and television, New Zealand’s film censor (Mr D. McIntosh) said at a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Travel League today. “It is important in the public mind that the same standards should appear to exist, even though I realise the media are different,” Mr McIntosh said in reply to a question about television censorship. “It is a weakness when you have two different systems. For example, the television authorities do not publish the lists of cuts as we did when it was our job to cover television.”

If there was a common liaison it would be possible to adjust the differences between the two, he said.
