(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 24. A Wellington company has developed a house framing method which involves the use of steel components. These clip together and are secured with rivets, instead of the conventional timber method of construction.

Nearly two years of research went into the scheme and this month the firm, Cunic Industries, Ltd, put the finishing touches to a code of practice for the new system and issued it to a number of builders and also to local authorities in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Invercargill for their approval. The product takes a fifth of the time that timber does to erect, and is said to reduce the cost of the average 1000 sq. ft home as much as $l5O
