Chief Mediator, Wellington 2. Mediators, Auckland and Christchurch The mediators will be required to encourage employers, unions and workers to establish and maintain harmonious industrial relations and assist in the prevention and settlement of industrial disputes. The positions call for persons with a wide knowledge of industry and extensive experience in the field of industrial relations. Ability to, originate and maintain good relationships with employers and workers’ organisations and a good personality are important. Although located in the centres mentioned, appointees will be required to cover a wider area and may be involved in extensive travel often at short notice. Appointments will be for the statutory term of three years, and successful appointees will be eligible for re-appointment for further terms. Salary will depend on qualifications and experience, but will be up to $BOOO a year for the Chief Mediator and up to $6OOO a year for mediators, Auckland and Christchurch.
