Routed by openers
Christ’s College bowlers will probably recall with a shudder their misfortune in meeting St Thomas’s College in a Senior “A” boys’ association match last Saturday. When St Thomas’s captain, M. Bradley, decided his team had made enough, the score was 303 for none a feat of scoring unequalled in that grade of cricket recently, if ever. His team had been batting for three hours and a
half, and T. Doherty, aged 17, was 178 not out, and the 16-year-old J Knowles 116 not out Doherty reached hie century about an hour bofore the declaration, and Knowles achieved his threefigure milestone In a little over three hours. Not surprisingly, Christ’s College appeared a little overwhelmed by it all and was 25 for three at stumps. It is a two-day match.
