Title-holders to meet
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Taranaki’s national featherweight amateur boxing champion, P. Ryan, has the chance to advance his claims for Olympic selection when he meets the Australian champion, E. Downs, at Upper Hutt next month.
Ryan, aged 19, one of New Zealand’s outstanding amateurs and holder of the Jamieson Belt, will be having his first fight of the new season, and an important one for him.
