Royal visit to Australia

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE, March 23. The Duke of Edinburgh arrived in Adelaide this afternoon, after a flight from New Guinea, to begin a two-week visit to Australia. On his way, Prince Philip had made a brief stop at the Royal Australian Air Force base at Amberley, Queensland, where, dressed in the uniform of a Marshal of the R.A.A.F., the Duke inspected flights of Canberra bombers and Phantom fighter aircraft, and was greeted by 250 children from local schools.

He is due to spend three days in Adelaide before flying on to other Australian cities.

A crowd of about 2000 people went to Adelaide Airport to see him arrive in brilliant sunshine to be welcomed by the Governor-General (Sir Paul Hasluck) and the South Australian Premier (Mr Donald Dunstan).
