Sale report incorrect "The Press’’ Special Service AUCKLAND. A report that Chequer Board had been sold was Incorrect. An option was taken in Christchurch on the horse and he was flown to Auckland on Saturday to link up with transport to the United States in anticipation of the sale being completed. Negotiations fell through. Chequer Board Is at present stabled at Takaninl. His owner, Mr A. Carmichael, of Auckland, said yesterday the horse would be sent back to Christchurch shortly.
