Protest outside consul’s home
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 21. A passive demonstration commemorating the Sharpeville incident 11 years ago was held outside the Wadestown home of the South African Consul-General (Mr P. Philip) today. Students from Victoria University and others stood outside the house with antiapartheid placards. The demonstration, which started at 8 a.m., was due to finish at midnight The president of the Victoria University Students’ Association (Mr G. Collins) said the demonstrators worked on a roster system.
