Firm prices for lamb There was a good inquiry for New Zealand lamb last week at the Smithfield Market, and there were firm quotations consequent on light supplies of fresh beef and lamb, the Meat Board reports.
The main grade of New Zealand lamb (291 b to 361 b) was up slightly on last week, realising 13.3 p to 14.0 p (28.7 c Light pitchings of New Zealand mutton cleared slowly, mainly in cut form, at varying realisations. The main grade of hogget (491 b to 561 b) was quoted at 7.7 p to B.op (16.8 c The main grade of wethers (491 b to 561 b) realised 7.5 p (16c) and prime ewes (491 b to 561 b) fetched 7.5 p (16c).
