NEW UTTER BAGS

A new campaign to make litter bags widely available to car users in an attempt to keep New Zealand roadsides litter-free has been started by the National AntiLitter Campaign Council. The council has had designed a plastic litter bag which can be printed with advertising and other slogans and hopes that firms, local bodies and other interested parties will purchase the bags suitably printed, for giving away to the public. The executive director of the council (Mr R. W Fenton) said yesterday that the bags would represent a cost saving in local body rubbish collections.

He said that the cost erf the bags to firms included the designing and printing of whatever message the purchaser required on the bag, and was tax deductible.
