Oil off India
India’s first off-shore oil well produced oil yesterday. The strike was at the Alabet Well, in the Gulf of Cambay, North of Bombay. There were no immediate indications of the value of the strike. India produces about six million tons of crude oil a year. It imports about 10 million tons. —Bharnagor, March 21.
