St. Albans I wins women’s cricket
St Albans I gained an exciting and weU deserved outright win over Hagley to take the senior women's cricket competition on Saturday, weU ahead of any other team. St Albans had 69 pointe and Western was second with 55. Hagley batted first and could only make 88, But after a good partnership between P. Quickenden (89 not out) and R. Murray (68 not out), it was able to declare the second innings closed at 177/1, .
St Albans I, after making 116/2 declared in Its first Innings was left 150 to score In 70 minutes. It passed this on the last ball of the day with four wickete still In hand. tn the other senior game, St Albans II beat Western on the first innings. Results:— St Albans I 116/2 declared and 152/6 (J. Hamilton 42, K. Gilray 36 not out. M. Alabaster 27, A. McKenna xl; R. Murray 2/59, P. Qulckenden 2/57) beat Hagley 88 and 177/1 declared (P.
