Royal stamp
The Japanese Postal and Telecommunication Ministry has denied a newspaper report that it would issue a stamp carrying the portraits of Emperor Hirohito and Empress Nagako. “Asahi Shimbun” had reported that the Prime Minister (Mr Sato) would be asked whether such stamps should be issued to commemorate the Royal couple’s visit to Europe, in September. No Emperor’s portrait has ever appeared on a Japanese stamp. —■ Tokyo, March 21.
