Series of thefts
Christchurch detectives are investigating a series of burglaries, involving property worth $B6, in Riccarton on Thursday night. Thieves entered the Blenheim Road Motordrome, Ltd, and took cigarettes valued at $lB and broke a glass door. The Avenue Theatre, Riccarton Road, had $24 in cash stolen, and a $3O transistor radio and $4 in cash was removed from Blue Ribbon Tailors, Ltd. Detectives are also investigating the theft of a watch, valued at $26, from a house in Stratford Street, Fendalton. On Wednesday night office equipment valued at $BB5 was stolen from the office of Anderson’s Foundry, Curries Road; and meat was taken also rfom a butcher’s shop in the Main South Road. Money and tools worth $BO were taken from A. J. Palmer and Company, Ltd, 355 Curries Road, on Wednesday night.
