Correspondence School
Sir,—Now that claims are being made regarding the improvement in school staffing, I should like to draw attention to the fact that the Correspondence School is taking up the slack in the New Zealand education system to a very great degree as far as secondary schooling is concerned, and to some extent in the primary section. The principal and staff must be just about driven up the wall by having to cope with the unforeseen need to shift soon from the path of the, new motorway, without the ' added burden that has been. thrust upon them by the! grave shortage of secondary > school teachers. I trust that the public will see that the Government is generous with monetary and other assistance { to this vital school.—Yours, etc., , PARENT. 1 February 22, 1971.
