I.C.I.A.N.Z. chairman talks of N.Z. costs

(N.Z. Pres, Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, February 25. ' The chairman of 1.C.1.A.N.Z. (Sir Archibald Glenn) told shareholders at the company’s annual meeting today that New Zealand had continued to experience rapid rises of wages and salaries with a resulting inflation of costs but that the demand for chemicals remained buoyant.

“1.C.1. (New Zealand) and its subsidiary companies are finding a well-maintained demand for their products and during the first four months of the current financial year the New Zealand group has continued its strong growth,” Ihe said.

i “The scarcity and high cost of labour are making New Zealand farmers more and I more aware of the economic advantages of using chemicals, and the company’s range of agricultural and

animal remedy products is well suited to help them. “The company has built up a strong and competent field staff to give practical advice to farmers on the best methods of use. “Fibremakers (New Zealand) has also experienced good growth in its markets, and Terylene, in the form of Crimplene yams, is steadily extending its penetration into new uses. The sales of paint and wallpaper, sporting ammunition, slide fasteners, synthetic resin adhesives, and other locally-manufactured products of the New Zealand group continue at buoyant levels.”
