BOND DRAW BY “ELSIE”

WELLINGTON, Feb. 24.
“Elsie.” the Post Office’s electronic equipment for choosing winning numbers in bonus bond draws, will be used for the first time this Friday. The Postmaster General (Mr McCready) said today that the results of the draw would be announced on March 9.
Until now, he said, the lists of winning numbers had been produced by “Ernie,” the electronic random number indicator equipment used by the premium savings bond office in Britain.
