Big drug haul

Christchurch drug squad detectives were yesterday intensifying their investigation into the discovery of about $2OOO worth of the narcotic cannabis in a Sydenham garden on Thursday.-

The discovery was the largest drug haul in Christchurch for almost two years. The cannabis, weighing about 21b, was in the form of the resin hashish, and was buried in a container at the back of a garden. Detectives raided the house, and another in Sydenham, acting on information received; and said yesterday they were “extremely satisfied” with the seizing. It is not known, however, how long the hashish had been buried in the garden. No arrests were made.
