Brother of Apihai fined

WHAKATANE, Feb. 19.
Whare Tupaki Apihai, aged 18, a workman, was fined $4OO by Mr W. M. Willis, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a charge of assisting his brother, Charles Rangi Apihai, to avoid recapture. A second man, Leslie Te Poono, aged 21, workman, was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment on a similar charge.
On a charge of driving while disqualified, Apihai was placed on probation for 12 months and had his disqualification extended by six months.
