BLYTH PICKS UP BREEZE

The solo yachtsman, Chay Blyth, took advantage of a slight breeze yesterday afternoon and resumed his voyage south along the Otago coast, according to a Press Association. message from Dunedin. The 30-year-old Scotsman was probably grateful for the slight breeze which had sprung up by 4 p.m. During the previous 48 hours he had been becalmed 30 miles off the

coast, opposite Moeraki. Blyth was spotted from the air shortly before 5 p.m. making slow, but steady progress south. He was a considerable distance south of Oamaru. Attracted by the noise of the plane, the yachtsman came up on deck, waved and smiled. He appeared fit and well. The weather at the time was fine and sunny, but a bank of low cloud and sea mist lay directy in Blyth’s path.
