Dunlop’s profit rises 12 p.c.

MELBOURNE, Feb. 12.
Dunlop Australia, Ltd, reports that the net profit for the December half-year was up 12.1 per cent, from $6,803,426 to $7,626,640. The steady interim divident of 5J per cent is payable on April 1, to shareholders at March 26.
The group profit is reached after depreciation of $4,332,260 ($4,099,080) and taxation' of $4,941,320 ($4,790,487). The company says that the earning rate for the half-year on average ordinary capital rose from 16.5 c a share to 17.1 c a share.
Group sales for the period increased 5.3 per cent. The figures are subject to audit at the end of the financial year, the company says.
