Drowning at Westport
(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Feb. 14. A Reefton baker’s assistant was drowned at Carters Beach, three miles from Westport, early this afternoon. He was Ronald W. Hudson, aged 40, married with three children.
He was found in difficulties near the shore by two young men who were members of his Reefton party attending a combined Reefton and Westport R.S.A. picnic.
Artificial resuscitation was not successful.
