Club closed by police
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Feb. 7. Drinking facilities at the Greymouth Workingmen’s Club were closed by the police on Friday night. A judgment was given in Wellington the previous day by the Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild) who dismissed an appeal by the club against a refusal by the Licensing Control Commission to rehew its charter. \A member of the club was convicted last year on a charge of obstructing the police. Several club members were at or near the bar when the police action took place. Club officials have referred the matter to their legal advisers in Wellington.
