Pirate radio ship sold
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, February 7. The former Radio Hauraki pirate radio ship, Tiri 2, will be used for seismic survey work in the New Hebrides. Now reverted to its original name of Kapuni, it has been bought by a Wellington syndicate headed by Captain M. Berthold, formerly of Lower Hutt, and now a resident of the New Hebrides. The 194-ton Kapuni, more than 60 years old, is being overhauled at Auckland.
