Morals Act to stay
(N.Z P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) CAPE TOWN, Feb. 5. The South African Minister of Justice (Mr Petrus Pelser) has told Parliament that the c .oversial Immorality Act would not be scrapped by a Nationalist Government. He was replying to an Opposition call for a commission of inquiry into the act arising from the dramatic withdrawal of charges last week against 19 people in the Free State town of Excelsior. The accusations of mixed sex against five white men and 14 African women gave rise to world-wide publicity for the little town and the controversial act.
