Taxi-driver killed
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. A taxi-driver died instantly when he apparently lost control and his car swerved into the path of an oncoming vehicle on State Highway 1, two miles and a half north of Huntly, about 3.30 p.m. today. He was James Lambert, married, of Huntly. The two occupants of the other car were admitted to the intensive care unit of Waikato Hospital. They are James Noel Laird, aged 50, and his son Adrian Noel Laird, aged 30, both of 9 Cameron Street, Hawera.
Mr Lambert’s car was cut into two pieces which were thrown wide apart.
