West Coast hotel sold
(I'rom Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Dec. 7. > The Moana Kotuku Lodge at Mitchells, on the shores of Lake Brunner, has been sold by Mr and Mrs W. G. Henderson to two Auckland businessmen, Messrs B. Early and A. Hartley. The price has not been disclosed.
The lodge, developed from what was formerly the Mitchells Hotel, by Mr and Mrs Henderson, who purchased it four years and a half ago, has been widely patronised by tourists and sportsmen. The new managers are Mr and Mrs C. Cox. of Auckland, who took over at the weekend. Mr and Mrs Henderson, who have left oh a holiday, will return to live privately on the West Coast. Mr Henderson said that he intended to devote some of his retirement to fostering the conservation of the West Coast’s scenic assets and developing further its tourist potential.
