Letters on television topics are subject to the rules applying to general correspondentce. "GRANDSTAND” I am writing to heartily endorse the remarks of “An Interested Viewer” with regard to the Grandstand programme showing the playing of the final of the New Zealand women’s golf championship. A commentator, like an umpire, should be completely impartial giving a true and unbiased account of the match. However, this commentator chose to highlight the play of Mrs Whitehead throughout the viewing, disregarding almost entirely the outstanding achievement of the eventual New Zealand champion, Mrs Cullen. To this viewer (who witnessed the actual match), it was a distorted and inaccurate account of a very fine game, played by two splendid sportswomen. ANOTHER INTERESTED ONLOOKER.
