Match race planned
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Commonwealth and European Games 5000 metres champion, lan Stewart, has been invited to compete in the sponsored Auckland Centennial Athletic Championships next February. If Stewart accepts the invitation it is also hoped to match hint with the Commonwealth Games 1500 metres silvermedallist, Dick Quax, over 2000 metres. This race would be an intermediate distance between Quax’s speciality, the 1500 metres, and Stewart’s, the 5000 metres.
