Guarantee for tour
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The M.C.C. will receive a guaranteed $177,270 from the Australian cricket board of control for its present Australian tour, the tourist’s team manager (Mr D. Clark) has disclosed. Mr Clark was reported to have said that the Englishmen would receive $25,800 for each of the first five tests, and $12,900 from the final test in Sydney. The M.C.C. also had been guaranteed $752 a day from each state match, as well as one-day games. Mr Clark added: “A similar payment scheme, in sterling, will operate for the Australian team’s tour of England in 1972.” The “Australian” newspaper reported the expenses were expected to absorb $130,000 of the payout to the M.C.C.
