Spray risk in stock water
Health danger could arise from the indiscriminate use of water from Stock waterraces by agricultural contractors for the cleaning of their spray equipment, the Paparua County Council heard last evening. A report from the waterrace ranger (Mr R. A. Harris) said that it was possible that water used to wash spray containers and equipment had been allowed to get back to the race. The council decided to ask the Department of Agriculture for its comments, to impose a $2 licence fee on all contractors, and to warn them that equipment must not be cleaned near waterraces’.
