LONDON. New Zealanders in hospital in England are visited by members of the committee of the New Zealand Women’s Association in London. At the recent annual general meeting of the association held in the Penthouse of New Zealand House, the committee acknowledged with pleasure a donation of-£l7, proceeds of a coffee morning given by Lady Blundell and Mrs R. M. Miller, and wives and officers of the High Commission, towards the hospital fund. The retiring president, Mrs P. H. Sykes, in her speech, looked back over a very successful 40th anniversary year, during which two albums had been started of newspaper cuttings and photographs—one for' Royal occasions, and one for other activities over the past years. Mrs Wright reported that there had been five functions during the year. Two evening parties—one a wine and cheese, and the other a party for young New Zealanders. A free luncheon was provided for members only, at which Lady Blundell was presented with an old print of No. 1 Cornwall Terrace (the official residence), and Mrs H. Harrop, Mrs M. Drew, and Mrs L. Whiteaway were made life members. A garden party at Marlborough House was held, at which Lady Bowater, the Lady Mayoress of the City of London, was the guest-of-honour, and a Christmas party has yet to be held. NEW MEMBERS Mrs C. H. W. Ronaldson, the newly elected president, paid tribute to Mrs Sykes
particularly in the 40th anniversary year. I There were five new members elected to the committee which now comprises: president, Mrs C. H. W. Ronaldson; senior vice-president, Mrs V. Harrop, who was present at the first meeting on June 16, 1930, which was held in a small room in the old New Zealand House in the Strand.
