Business club has membership rise

Membership of the Christchurch Federated Business and Professional Women’s Club had risen to 83, the retiring president, Miss M. E. Grant, said in her report presented to the annual meeting last evening. Attendance at meetings had also risen, she reported. Programmes throughout the year had been varied and interesting. The social services subcommittee had worked’hard to raise funds for the needy. Members had provided

knitted rugs, and garments which were distributed to needy cases. The club continued to support the sponsored child in Greece, and contributions had been made to help support a girl at Ramallah, a training school for Palestinian refugees in Jordan.
