Death after 100ft fall

(H.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 22. Eight days after falling over a cliff in South Taranaki, a 45-year-old man has died in the New Plymouth Hospital. He was John Joseph Landers, single, of Manaia. He was admitted to the hospital on November 14, the day after his accident, and he died there last night. Mr Landers was found at the base of a 100 ft cliff at the mouth of the Ouri Stream, near Otakeho, at 10 ajn. on November 14, and is believed to have lain there semi-conscious for about 12 hours. The accident apparently happened during darkness on the previous night when Mr Landers had visited the area to prepare fishing tackle in a bach at the base of the cliff.
