A record $3,012,15540 was bet during the two days .and two nights of the New Zealand Cup meeting, which ended on Saturday at Addington Raceway, an increase of $202,850 on the $2,71939640 bet in 1060. It was the first time $3 million had been exceeded at the meeting. Betting, both on and offcourse, increased on all four days. On Saturday on « course betting amounted to $265357, an increase of $71,100 over last year when the weather was unfavourable. Off-course the total was $300,608.50, an increase of $675440. On-course betting for the meeting amounted to $1,451,317, an increase of $172,269 over last year. Off-course betting increased by $120,590 to $156043840. The attendance on Saturday was 11,200, compared with 7000 last year.
