IRONSAND SCHEME
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 22. Waipipi Iron Sands, Ltd, Waverley, has applied to the Taranaki Catchment Commission for the right to build a dam, install a pumping station, and take 7m gallons of water a day from the Wairoa stream. The application is one of six received by the commission. It says the water is wanted for ironsand mining purposes, including pumping to stockpile and pumping slurry to off-shore ship loading.
