REFUGEE WORKER
First visit to Chch Mr R. Kohaut, . who has been appointed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as his special representative in Australia and New Zealand, will make his first visit to Christchurch today and tomorrow. He will be stationed in Sydney, but he will make periodic visits to New Zealand. Mr Kohaut, who is an was, born and educated in Vienna* He joined the United Nations High, Commission for Refugees iii 1958 and served first as a programme officer and as a deputy representative in several branch offices. . •'. < 1 In 1965 he was appointed representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ in Uganda and for the last two years he has been the representative in Tanzania. He will be accompanied to Christchurch by his wife who is a New Zealander.
