BOY DROWNS AT BEACH

' (N.Z. Press Association) ' WANGANUI, Nov. 22. A boy was drowned and his brother rescued at Castlecliff Beach late this afternoon. The dead boy was David Mm Gurwick, aged nine, a son of Mr and Mrs D. J. Gurwick, of Wanganui. Mr Simon Reid, a Castlecliff Surf Club member, said tonight that about 430 pm. a little boy came running to the patrol lookout and said two toys were drowning. “Three of us swam out to the area. We found Charles Gurwick. He was pretty exhausted. He said he had been trying to rescue his brother but could not,” Mr Reid said. David Gurwick was found about 30 yards from the shore.
