“EARTH AND SKY”
Production in Chch
The Christchurch Civic Music Council will present “Earth and Sky,” a musical work by Miss Jenny McLeod, in the Civic Theatre in April. The presentation will be the first in the South Island; nine performances are envisaged. Miss McLeod was recently appointed Professor of Music at the Victoria University of Wellington. Her “Earth and Sky” incorporates choral and orchestral music, drama and ballet The Civic Music Council had planned the performance for some months, said the annual report of the chairman (Mr K. R. Newson). The planning committee had appointed Mrs Neta Neale as producer, Mr E. R. FieldDodgson as musical-director, and Mr R. E. Perks as supervisor of the orchestra.
