Surrender of one prisoner
(TV Z. Press Associations ROTORUA, November 20. One of two prisoners who escaped from Hautu prison on Monday afternoon gave himself up to the police at Turangi shortly after midnight last night. He is lan Lawrence Maxwell, aged 18, serving a sentence for theft and assault. Maxwell told the police that the only substantial food the two escapers had eaten was a trout they caught in a stream. Police believe the other prisoner, Russell James Higgins, aged 24, may be in the Northland area.
