tive rank of the various authors discussed in our World Authors Series. The inclusion of an author in the New Zealand section of this series indicates a geographic grouping rather than a qualitative one on a universal basis. Mr Mulgan’s literary stature is such that we believe he merits inclusion in any representative listing of New Zealand writers. We are not making a comparative evaluation vis a vis his rank when compared with such other writers as Zola or Sienkiewicz or Bliss Carman, from other national areas of the literary world.—Yours, etc., JACOB STEINBERG, President, Twayne Publishers, Inc. New York, October 22, 1970.
