New Zealand mills bought 87,111 bales of wool last season. This was 3.6 per cent more than the previous record total. Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd’s “Annual Review” notes that local mills, while only taking a small proportion of total production, are a valuable element in the market and over-all are the ninth largest customer for New Zealand wools. Incidentally, P y n e, Gould, Guinness were last season the fourth largest sellers of greasy wool in New Zealand, disposing of 73,887 bales. They followed Dalgety New Zealand, Ltd, with 352,969 bales, NMA Company of New Zealand, Ltd, with 293,122 bales and Wright Stephenson and Company, Ltd, with 242,546 bales.
