The intensive care unit of the Nelson Hospital will benefit from the visit of Dr Danie Craven, the president of the South African Rugby Board.
The Nelson Round Table has sponsored his visit for a $lO a head dinner-cabaret
evening on November 30, with the intensive care unit to receive the profits. The Nelson Action Committee on International Affairs does not welcome Dr Craven’s visit It has opened a “protest fund.” The money given to it will go to the unit The money to be raised by the committee has been offered to the Nelson Round Table for addition to its fund, but according to the committee the table had neither accepted nor rejected the offer. The money will be sent direct to the hospital.
Members of the committee were asked to contribute an amount equal to what they thought they would spend on a dinner; and the public have been invited to subscribe.
