Dalvui and Frivole fit

“The Press’' Special Service HASTINGS. The stablemates, Dalvui and Frivole, which are engaged at Feilding, were responsible for impressive final trials at Hastings yesterday morning. Chill, which is sufficiently forward to make her presence felt in the Colyton Handicap, was another which worked w r ell.

Conditions on the plough and the inside grass were ideal. On the plough, Relampago (B. Dodds) ran ahead of Chill (R. Marsh) to the three furlongs, then Chill drew alongside and finished half a length ahead in Imin 4 l-ssec for five furlongs, the last three in 39 l-ssec.

Dalvui (L. Carston) started at the mile and a quarter and was not at top when he passed the peg marking the start of a round, which made his time for the circ.uit of Imin 40sec particularly good. He ran the last seven in Imin 31 4-ssec, the last six in Imin 17 3-ssec, and the last three in 39 l-ssec. Mackley (G. Julius) and Partner (D. Withington) ran six furlongs in Imin 20 3-ssec, the last three in 40 2-ssec. Aran Mist (M. Burridge) ran half a mile in 53sec, the last three in 40sec.

Cartographer (M. Bur ridge), which shows promise, ran seven furlongs with Pretty Cocky (L. Carston) and finished clear in Imin 35 2-ssec, the last three in Luana (J. Panapa), which is in the Colyton Handicap at Feilding, ran five furlongs in Imin 8 l-ssec, the last three taking 42 l-ssec. She works well, but has been disappointing lately. Mr Spy (B. Kirke) and Wellcourt (I. x Lawson) ran seven furlongs in Imin 34 3-ssec, the last three in 40 1-5 sec.

Golden Gurkha (Julius) and Landscape (Miritana) ran seven furlongs in Imin 34 l-ssec, the last three in 39 l-ssec. Seato (Pringle) took 50 2-ssec for half a mile and 38 l-ssec for the last three furlongs. Lilt (J. Panapa) and Honey Queen (Frethey) took 52 l-ssec for half a mile, the last three in 39 l-ssec. Frivole (L. Carston) ran half a mile in 51sec, the last three in 37 4-ssec. She is very fit for the Colyton Handicap at Feeding, but ran disappointingly at Napier Park. On the No. 1 grass, Silver Sovereign (D. Withington) was shading What (L. Carston) at the end of half a mile in 53sec, the last three in 39 3-ssec.

Great Luck (D. Withington) led Zsi Zsi (A. Pringle) and Den (L. Carston). by a length and a half at the end of five furlongs in Imin 3sec, the last three in 38 3-ssec.
