Sam Tryax to go north
The fine four-year-old, Sam Tryax, is to join R. Furdon’s team at Pukekohe next week. Efforts are being made to have him flown north soon after the final day of the cup meeting at Addington Raceway.
Sam Tryax’s part-owner and trainer, R. C. Whitford, said yesterday he hoped P. Wolfenden would be able to drive the son of Lucky Try ax in his northern engagements, which would probably start at the Thames meeting on December 12.
Wolfenden has driven Sam Tryax in his races at the cup meeting, and he will be behind him again in the Ollivier Handicap tomorrow. Whitford said he had not decided when Sam Tryax would return south, but it probably would not be before the Inter - Dominion meeting in February. •There are some good races in the Auckland area after the Auckland Cup meeting, with a flying mile at Cambridge as a likely mission,” he said.
